Larry Barrett Body Co. first opened its doors at 401 S. Broadway Pittsburg, Kansas, in June of 1971. In this small building with one work station a body shop dream was first realized. Larry moved his business to 825 E. Atkinson Frontenac, Kansas and remained there until March of 1998. It was at this time that the need for a larger facility became a necessity.
Larry Barrett Body*Frame*Towing was moved into a brand new building at 2901 N. Rouse in Pittsburg. This expansion allowed the body shop to the most advanced equipment necessary to repairing wrecked vehicles. In January 2004 Larry was approached about selling the building to USD #250 school district for use of their bus barn. It was at this time that plans were developed for a larger and revised floor plan in order to keep up with the demands of the changing automotive industry.
